Alternative valve for blow pipe

I found this:

It’s supposed to fit any kind of bagpipes.
Did somebody tried this on the UP?
It could be a good alternative to stomach like noisy valves.

It seems too large for some uilleann pipe stocks. Info says ‘fully adjustable from 3/4" to 7/8"’, whereas most uilleann pipe blowpipe stocks are less than 19mm / 3/4". Boring a blowpipe stock out to accept the larger valve would not be a good idea. (At least this valve, unlike many commercial highland blowpipe valves, doesn’t have a tapered tenon, which is a recipe for disaster). It also appears that this valve is intended to sit between the blowpipe tenon and the end of the blowpipe stock - in a set of uilleann pipes there often is little or no extra length beyond the tenon, so there’d be no place to put the valve, if I understand the photos correctly.

There’s no need for the moisture-trapping features (for us, at least). There are other ways of reducing the rumbling/roaring noises from blowpipes, but often the tradeoff is hiss, which is also unpleasant. The fact is, the requirements for a good dry-blown valve are different from those of a wet-blown valve - for instance, it’s important that an uilleann pipe valve open fully under low differential pressure, to reduce hiss and prevent unnecessary bellows effort.
