My new whistle in A. Made by bagpipe maker Alban Faust in olive wood and reindeer horn. Superb crafsmanship and a lovely haunting tone, Alban goes for the Norse Sea Flute and Swedish Harjedalspipan tone and certainly achieves something different. This joins my capped shawm also made by Alban.

i found his website; sure enough, the fipples appear made of reindeer horn… !?!

Sorry not got around to working this out yet but they’re all on Alban’s site. They are pricey yes. Handmade whistles and recorders are very expensive from makers in Scandinavia however I really like it,
the workmanship is superb and it plays great. I just noticed Alban is now making an overtone whistle and this is a horn I’ve wanted a long time snce hearing Ale Moller play one.
