As someone who has actually done quite a bit of the type of Susato tweaking being discussed here, this is what I have found. The fipple plug is a very precise fit and is hollow.Care should be taken not to damage the labium ramp if you are doing this through the window and excessive force applied to the block for removal can result in damage to the plug, so go easy.I would have to agree with James that not a lot can be achieved. The folks who designed this have left little room for error and tampering with the fipple plug in susato,s case is really unnecessary and one can do more harm than good.A very light sanding to matt the top of the plug to aid in moisture dispersion can be helpful to prevent clogging but as they are not prone to clogging anyway, even this unnecessary.
Peace,Mike
