A special kind of stupid

Try it, you’ll never go back.

What the heck is marmite?!

A salty brown paste made of old dead brewer’s yeast–the UK equivallent of the Australian vegimite. It’s vile.

Vile is an extremely charitable term.
Marmite is the most disgusting thing ever made - apart from The Quiet Man, of course.

Oh. I always assumed that marmites were little bugs which crawled around in MarMil’s ears…

A guy I work with was out on the beer last night and he bought a ticket for a raffle. He won a lifetime supply of Marmite. When he went to collect his prize they gave him a jar - one jar.

Sounds about right to me

The Aussies I’ve know have said, in essence, Marmite is Vegemite for wimps; I don’t know whether that places it above or below the The Quiet Man.

Wasa crisp bread with a bit of butter and Vegemite is actually a nice snack. And I use it in tomato sauces and chili - you just have to back off the salt to compensate.

Roger

T’weren’t me what said that. I actually like The Quiet Man.

dubhlinn & jsluder? ya mean you two aren’t the same? sheeze…

-I have to defend peanut butter-not the homogenized, hydrogenated-oil type, but fresh-roasted ground peanuts in their own oil with salt or not, the type of PB which needs stirring. Mmmm! -Good on pancakes, bread, apples and red cabbage, not to mention with jam or as part of a PB /dill pickle/mayo sandwich. There must be something peanut butter doesn’t go well with. Ah yes… there it is. Salmon.

As I recall my long-gone days as a camp-counsellor, most of the little blighters I had the misfortune of shepherding only appeared to have TWO flavours of anything. These were, of course, ketchup and peanut butter. All food they ate was topped with one or the other.

What was horrible was that I had to eat with the little bstrds, and watch them slather gallons of red ketchup on thier slimy yellow eggs. Ick!

Maybe marmite wouldn’t have been so bad.

And no, the cook never served salmon, so I have no idea what they’d have done.

You must have been a great camp counselor!

Crikey!

Sounds Delish!

Great. Now when we finally meet up for a pint we’ll have two things to argue about.

I’ve always been a bit wary of Morris Dancers as well.
