WHEREAS The Golden Tone whistle was a whistle of golden color, and
WHEREAS It was in the key of C, and
WHEREAS The one formerly belonging to me got squished years ago, and
WHEREAS They are no longer available, and
WHEREAS It is deemed desirable that the Golden Tone Whistle be made available once again, and
WHEREAS The Little Black Whistle is lonesome without her Golden friend, and
WHEREAS It has been agreed among certain participants in the Chiff and Fipple Chatroom that we should campaign for its return, and
WHEREAS The Golden Tone was light weight and sweet of timbre, and
WHEREAS The Golden Tone was the key of C equivalent to the Little Black Whistle, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED That Walton’s ought to seriously consider bringing back the Golden Tone Whistle, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That we, the members of the whistle playing community, would like to stand together and affect positive change in the direction of humbly encouraging Walton’s to bring back the Golden Tone Whistle in C.
Walden’s right in that mass produced whistle companies need to expand their lines & heed the market pulse.
The thin aluminum tube of a LBW has a good tone but the whistle is ruined by poor tone hole size, placement and incorrect tube legnth. However Walton’s has great head designs.
Generation has the best key selection but questionable head moulding quality and hole placement.
Feadog is on the right track on tube design but needs to alter the Mk III head for better second octave response.
Some years ago, Chiff & Fipple leaned on Walton’s about this issue and received assurances that they would either re-issue the G.Tone or do a Lil’ Black in C. They never did it which is why they annoy me.
