A big thank you to Granny Mouse

I just got home from a South Dakota Artists Network retreat at a big ranch outside of Sturgis, and the issue of what South Dakota Artists were gonna do or say as an entity about recent events in NYC came up. I told 'em about our C&F whistle circle and how inspiring it was, and all eyes popped wide open! Who knows what we’re gonna do as a group, but the Whistler’s Circle sure got something started! Sunday morning I got to sit outside in a beautiful meadow, with wild turkeys and a herd of horses listened while I whistled “Amazing Grace” with the sun coming up behind Bear Butte! A Native American story-teller was there and now Native American Flute players all over South Dakota reservations are getting up and playing to the sunrise or sunset, too as a way of remembering and adding some loving energy to the rest of the world! (I have no idea what song they are playing, but it counts!) There’s something magical about the silence that’s left after a lone whistler stops playing. Even those silly turkeys stood still!

Meanwhile, I’m resting up from too much sauna, hot tub and indoor swimming pool! Wish you all could have been there! And…for a fearless soul who is willing to try playing Celtic with me! Yay! No more seventies rock cover song playing for me! It sure was good to come home to C&F again!

GrannyMouse, do you know what you started?

Let it shine!

Thanks, Anna ~ I’ve been known to start more than one fire around here. I hope we can keep this one going. We need to keep those patriotic tunes going too! God Bless America!
