Well I finally did it!
Over the past few weeks I have finally picked up those assorted whistles that have been hanginmg around the house and taken to them with a passion. Santa was nice to me and gave me a decent Dixon to be working on .. but that still left that old Generation kicking around and sounding awful.
So today I took my first foray into tweaking and hey - it worked! Now I have a useable Generation although being a bit of a pedant I am not happy on the tuning on one of the notes (F#). I’m not making too much of a thing about it at the moment as it may be my own inexperience. If so, all well and good. However, should it be something to do with the whistle I can always pull it around again until I get the right sound.
I already play other instruments and with those I soon wanted something better and I have no doubt that the same will come true of my whistling.
In the meantime my thanks to all who have posted comments/ advice about tweaking a Generation. It made for an enjoyable and fulfilling afternoon.
Happy New Year all.
