How are my fellow newbies doing learning?
I decided I’m going to record my progress so I can look back on it one day. I put my feeble attempt in my signature line. As you can hear, I can get the first octave fairly consistently now, but the 2nd octave still eludes me.
The strange thing is that, sometimes, the 2nd octave pops through clear as a bell (and unintentionally) and I can’t play the first octave.
Mine is on the way. 
I just ordered a three piece inline Low D with lip plate and wedge.

Hey I wanted to follow up and say that I got my Tipple on Monday, which was way sooner than I’d expected (Thanks Doug!) and it’s great! I’ve got a long ways to go to get the ol’ embouchure in shape and get these old fingers moving like and where they should, but I’m have a great time already!
I hope to soon have some sound to post, but I wouldn’t suggest holding your breath waiting.
