It’s not easy to play it…with my Dixon low D?? Song are very strange…and you??

I tend to half hole G#s when needed - XXV OOO.

Same note G# , but not easy for me!!
Thanks

On some whistles this (G# = x x o | x x o ) is a pretty good note, fairly easy to hit–Oak, Acorn, Clare, Generation, and Waltons except Mello-D are all pretty easy to hit.

On other whistles with wider bores (Susato, Syn, Mello-D) you can cross-finger it this way ( x x o | x o x ) and on these whistles you can get a decent first-octave G# with ( x x o | x x x ). These are the same fingerings used on the Baroque flute.

Half-holing almost always works but can be a real challenge to do at speed.

i just stay away from :boggle: cross-fingering :boggle: altogether. i play in D all the time, sometimes in G. i just put the tune in D on the computer.
