I’m interested in trading my Burke aluminum low D for another low D whistle. I’m looking for a wood or composite whistle. I don’t have a particular whistle in mind. I’m open to offers. To make it a better deal for someone I’m willing to throw in a nice Mollenhauer tenor.
The whistle was made in 2002, and is the pro model. It’s a little scuffed here and there. Just the normal wear you’d expect… no major scratches, dents, etc.. It’s a great whistle to play IMO. I don’t have a ton of experience with whistles, so I won’t try to describe the good points of a Burke. Most likely anyone reading this will know more about them than I do, and I’m sure reviews can be found easily.
Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about the recorder. I’d guess that it’s pear wood, but I’m not totally sure. It has one key and it has a beautiful tone. I have trouble sometimes with some of the high notes. I can get them, but I have to get my breath just right. I don’t seem to have the same problem with my other tenor (Ariel), but I don’t know if that’s a flaw with the recorder or with my skill. (Most likely it’s me). It’s in great shape. There’s a very small amount of wear on the mouthpiece, but aside from that there are no noticeable scratches.
