i’m after a Goldie large holed Low D model, very good budget, uk or Europe would be the easiest for me, as uk rip off vat and duty is high,

yvie - if I remember correctly, Colin Goldie didn’t really make large holed low D’s as Bernard Overton did - but you can email Colin to be sure.
Apparently, Colin did make a “big hole” model at one time, so it would certainly be worth looking into.

I should of updated, yes Colin does make a large hole model, I have found one, it’s on it’s way to me know,
i believe from the seller it is a custom order, he has moved on to a pratten flute and no longer plays low d,
so always worth posting a WTB.

Yes, Colin does make a big-hole Low D but only to order and he’s made very few of those. Four years ago as a complete beginner, I bought a standard Low D and a big hole model but the latter never got played and I sold it. Recently I got Colin to make me a big hole body for an existing whistle and found out he’d not made any others in the intervening period!!
well I feel quite privileged then, I have mine know and yes it’s defo a large holed model,
really rich sound, i’m not a fast player, so this will be my slow to medium speed low D,
it’s not an everyday or every tune whistle, not for my skill level anyway, so I can see why
Colin only makes for custom orders.
