Wooden Whistles made in Oz

Anyone have a link for Mark Binns in Western Australia?
I have heard (from my flute maker) that he makes beautiful wooden whistles.

Cilantro eaters please note when I say “whistle” I mean “flageolet”!

I know of Grinter and Syn whistles, that is it.

norcal, stop boosting up your count with useless posts like that one.

Oh, Yeah, well look in the mirror buddy. At least I mentioned the manufacturers! If I wanted to boost my count I would go to your USELESS thread or Dubhlin’s thread, maybe even my USEFUL thread.

excuses excuses excuses, you know I am right. I will hear nothing more about this.

Why is there never a smilie for deep theatrical sigh when you need one ?

Trisha

Er…what’s a cilantro eater? I know what cilantro is, and I know what a flageolet is, but I have no idea what one has to do with the other.

Redwolf

And now, as a real treat for the long-suffering originall poster…and I thought cilantro was something to do with coriander leaf

Took a bit of finding - elusive chap this…first to own an olivewood whistle, maybe? OK, SOMEONE must have one already

Trisha

Boy oh boy! Don’t you know anything?
A cilantro eater is someone who eats coriander
and a flageolet is a whistle with improved flavour

Ask Walden and Darwin, they can explain.

What? A link that mentions Mark Binns? Is that relevant to the mainstream discussion here? I rang him. He’s not at home right now. Apparently he doesnt have his own website. Olive wood huh? Going to ring him again soon. He lives as far from me as,perhaps, NY is to Frisco.

Thanks Trish. Eat mint.

Thanks for the link. talasiga, PLEASE keep us posted as to what keys he is working in as I am looking for a Low F wooden whistle. On Grinter’s list, but that could change.

As far as Olivewood goes, I do believe that Mr. Busman works in Olive. There was one on the Freeman Raffle (me thinks) that I was drooling over. ('course there were a dozen or so I was drooling over in the raffle :smiling_imp:, but don’t tell Bloomfield that ).

Long phone conversation with Mr Binns. High quality wooden whistle and tabor pipe specialist. Not just into olive but many woods, Ozzie as well as old world/new world woods.

Expensive end of market, I’d say. Not currently set up for low F key but does do special custom orders. I actually asked him about low F for myself.

Talkative fellow, well travelled, I’d say.
International clientele, esp Europe.
