I just wanted to share a little experience I had today while I was at work.
Today, this guy stopped me to ask me if I was the girl who played the “flute” last Saturday at the Christmas Bazaar. I said yes, and then he got all excited. So happy to have had the occasion to meet me and tell me that he really liked my music, and that the Kilt I wore was so cool!
I was very surprised, and yet I felt really good inside after talking with him and his wife. One of those “it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy” kind of moments.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that by simply playing the music that you love, it touches people and gives them a taste of what music used to be? (ie. that old music is still good)
cool Jim!
And you’re so right James. That is what it is about.

I’m jealous, Jim. It’s been too cold and too windy to do any busking here. I did for a while a couple of weeks ago, wearing my special fife/whisle gloves (fingers removed about 2/3 of the way up, with a mitten-like flap that velcros back over them). My teeth started chattering after half an hour or so and I had to stop.
Well, at least we’re past the solstice and spring is on the way.
You must come and join us here in
balmy St. Louis! Actually we’re the
balmy ones. I had silk longjohns,
a down parka, the standard gloves
with fingers scissored away–but
the temp went up into the 40s, praise
Santa.
Sometimes we’re driven off the
street by the cold…but we
always seem to come back.
Madness!
