Emmline - I guess if I stick around long enough I’m bound to fall victim to some flaming. Seems to be the order of the day now to take potshots at people. Maybe it’s just me but this board (well the old board anyway) used to be a friendlier place to be around back in 1999 or 2000. Maybe I’m too used to boards where flame wars aren’t tolerated and the perpetrators get kicked off.
Please don’t jump all over me people for the above - of course there are many fine and friendly people who populate this board still.
Remember “Bill”? A rosy haze is a nice thing to look through, but he was as bad as we’ve ever seen, now included, and that has to be about '99 or 2000.
Actually, and this is NOT a put down, if you think you’ve been flamed here, you’d never survive a REAL flame war. I’ve been involved in many, especially on some the old-time services (i.e. GEnie’s vegetarian and AR gfroups) that would result in weapons being drawn if in a ‘real’ setting. Odd as it is, I think that the better tools available to Sysops and moderators, coupled with gutsier sysops and mods, has actually cut way down on the flame levels in most (not all) of the web. Where real flame exists its because the mods and members like it so.
