Short flutes seem to get used up. Dayton C. Miller seems to be the only one with a fife (I bet it is out of tune).

I play a one-key cocus D-flute made in New Jersey around 170 years ago by C. Peloubet New-York. It plays at A-440, has an unlined head, no tuning slide, silver-color rings and was missing its crown. I bought-it-now on eBay last year for $75 plus $12 shipping. I also play a little B-flat one-key flute from the same maker, but it plays at about A-435. It has an unlined head, no tuning slide, ivory rings, and I bought it from a friend for $100. I’ve owned a dozen wooden flutes, old and modern, Boehm to keyless, and these two are the finest I’ve played.
I play the Scarface flute, that I got from Jon C. I definitely am starting to sound better and better, when I was in session you could tell when I hit the sweet spot cuz my friends heads would all turn and smile. I think it has an amazing tone when compared to some of the more modern flutes around here.
Mine’s an 1857 Metzler with a modern Hammy Hamilton headjoint. Bought it from Dave Migoya about 10 years ago:
