I don’t have an answer to your question. Just want to remind you we will be playing at McGrath’s in Alameda this Sunday, starting at 7pm. (We’ve added a fiddler who’s a good singer, as well.) This is your big chance to catch us. It turns into a session at 8pm. Bring your whistles and that guitar/banjo thing I heard about. You can sleep in on Monday.

thanks Tony but I’m up to the ranch for weekend. My family is big in organizing the Potter Valley rodeo and my brother and sis-in-law do team penning and I must attend or be scourge of family (as if being urban-dwelling musician ain’t bad enough).
I really did want to stay home and whistle this weekend though. sigh. Why must I be surrounded by people who don’t understand the need to whistle?? They want to get fresh air and stuff. Dang it. Sounds great at McGraths. Have been trying to get other Weekender, the fiddler, to go down there though and I will mention it to him.
Mayhaps they used brainwashing and “deprogramming” techniques to “cure” the WhOA.

I wish the real story was as interesting as the one about Crystal People.
I haven’t run off to get married yet; that happens on September 21. (And it’s not even a secret, and I am marrying the person everyone thinks I will.)
Well ok… I suppose part of the story is interesting in its own graphic way. About a month ago I managed to somehow get my lip infected, from an insect bite or a pimple I think, and it swelled up real big and got absolutely disgusting and amazingly painful, and was like that for two full weeks during which time I found it very depressing to think about pennywhistles.
I did have a look at the messageboard once or twice last week, but didn’t have time then to read carefully or post.
I guess before the lip thing I recall being down on my music for a while, which happens from time to time. I’ve gotten kind of used to it. I have a Master’s in music and my relationship with music is not always healthy. I’m not manic depressive or anything, but there’s a lot of history and a lot of baggage when I try to play.
