Whistling in Corsets

Well, I was at the Heart of the Forest Renaissance Faire yesterday, and I tied my trusty and sort of Ren Faire-looking natural Clarke C to my belt, thinking, “Oh, I’ll play a little.” It wasn’t until after I got there that I realized my Clarke takes more air than the others AND I was wearing one of those restrictive Ren Faire corest/vests.

I did my best and I think it was OK, but I certainly noticed being WAY more out of breath at the end. Thank God I didn’t take one of my lower whistles–I would have passed out!

Rats! I thought this was the name of a new tune!

Hey Kar, any pics?

Surely “Breathless in Corsets” would have been a more suggestive title? :lecherous leer: (don’t know if the BBcode will work for that one). And I’m sure good ol’ Bloomers would agree

I do agree. And how about “Flushed and Tied-Up” for a tune name? :LL:

But don’t call me Bloomers, Rogy-Podgy.

Just tried running that phrase by Google, and here’s what I got: http://www.mortishas.com.au/male_corsets.html

That’s just while we’re waiting for Kar’s more appealing visuals

Oh, I see…
Query: If it’s “Bridal Haute Couture” for “males” shouldn’t it be “Groomal Haute Couture”?

At least you’re not claiming to be busy…

We don’t have a RenFaire within many leagues (just trying to sound authentic…), so I go in for early 19th reenactment stuff. I just realized that that has it’s own advantages. The clothing may be equally uncomfortable, but at least there’s no corsets.

“Scot siren whistling” is an anagram for
“Whistling in Corsets”.

Alas, no pictures! I did that thing of bringing a camera and then forgetting to use it.

However, on a related note, I am planning to start incorporating my whistling into my belly dancing. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to dance and whistle at the same time (belly dancing takes tremendous breath control, esp slow movements) but I do plan on maybe whistling accompanied by some smaller, easier steps. We’ll see how this goes–and, maybe, in a few months, I will have pictures of THAT.

You should try using a tabor pipe. Then your right hand is free to use some zils too.

That’s an interesting idea. I’m one of those people who, with practice, can really multi-task well. If you saw someone playing a tabor pipe and zills while dancing with a sword balanced on her head, would you be impressed?

I can do all of that–uh, except for the tabor pipe part. Guess I have some work ahead of me.
