Whistle makers: Stainless steel whistle bodies anyone?

Happy to say I’ve got the other stainless steel D that Erle labored over, and it’s a wonderful whistle, very much to my liking. Now I have a companion to my BD C, as well as a whistle of relatively indestructable materials, which may survive us here if this interminable rain doesn’t stop. Last week, the biggest storm we’ve had in Long Island with terrible damage all around us and now the floods. Good to know that my ss BD by Erle will likely survive.

See if you can hear the difference in sound between the two positions.

Quite a bit of difference to my ears. I like the sound in the second recording. It’s a bit more open to me.

I think I prefer the first one, slightly cleaner, especially in the upper octave (to my ear).
