Hi,
I’ve got a GoldTone IT250 (17 fret tenor banjo). The string guages that came with the banjo are 16, 20, 30, 40. They’re a tad heavy, but I like the sound they produce. I’m having trouble finding music stores in my area that stock these guages.
Does anybody have any recomendations for online stores where I can get strings? I’d prefer an online store in Canada so I don’t have to pay duty on my purchase.
Cheers!
Try http://www.stringsandbeyond.com, they’re my favorite.
Elderly has a custom GHS set, .014 .024w .032w .042w. that i’ve used on my IT250, works well.

Close to Canada, but still across the border.
JustStrings is a great place. Good prices too.
don’t look for prepackaged strings. Almost every music store has a box of loose strings, ask to see that.
Failing that, I’ve purchased a lot of individual strings from juststrings.com Order a lot at the same time to make the shipping and handling worth it.
