Wanted: Cillian O'Briain non-tunable Low D

Might as well put my feelers out for this one too-sold off all my low whistles in favor of the flute, and now I’m rediscovering them! Oh well, it happens!

Thanks!

Maurice Reviol was Cillian’s Whistle maker while he worked in Cillian’s shop. Maurice met and married a nice gal from New Zealand.

After a while, the young lady got the itch to return to her homeland. Maurice decided to go along (funny how that works).

Cillian told Maurice to go ahead and take the whistle business with him as Cillian’s Uilleann Pipe waiting list was getting fairly unwieldy and he didn’t want to fiddle around making whistles for fear of lynch mobs of angry pipers (you really don’t want to mess with angry pipers).

So, to make a long story short, Reviol whistles are O’Brien Whistles with Reviol’s name on them instead of O’Brien’s. Or, they’re Reviol whistles with Reviol’s name on them instead of O’Brien’s or something like that…anyway. You get the picture.

Doc

Thanks for the “strait” scoop there, Doc! You certainly have a way of telling a story! You should write a book someday-I like your sense of humor and the way you tell a story!

I was hoping maybe to get back the non-tunable O’Briain I had sold a while ago, but no doubt, Maurice’s whistles are as good (since he probably made them in the first place!). I will definitely keep them in mind, as the others are no longer available from Cillian.
