Uilleann Reamer

Does anyone know where to buy or get a custom reamer made, Ive been making them out of flat tool steel, they just dont last long enough… I heard maybe Tim Britton sells custom reamers..

There’s one currently on eBay

it’s listed here:

I checked Tim Britton’s site the other day, after the post mentioning that he sells them, I did not see one listed but I am thinking of contacting him about this.

hello,
it seems there’s enough interest in reamers to make it worthwhile looking into having a run made by a machine shop somewhere. I would imagine if we all got together and (here might be the tricky part) decided on the dimensions we could get a bunch made for relatively cheap. (i.e. <$300). Maybe even contact the company that made the one on ebay? I know it’s difficult to find a shop that’s interested in making them… but obviously “Gammons” can and probably could be covinced to make more. Also, a 4-fluted spiral reamer is great, but it might be worthwhile as well to look into the cost of having a simpler reamer done.
just a though.
Any ideas?

I would be interested. Maybe Gammons Hoaglund has Uilleann Pipe reamer dimensions already. Although we may not be privy to that info.

I love working with my hands, it’s just getting the time.

I’m going to repost the above in new thread…
