TV in the bedroom, Yes or No ?

I have a TV and a DVD player in my bedroom For the odd time I might want to watch some programme or film that my wife does not want to watch. My wife thinks we should not have a TV in the bedroom at all .

Do you think its a good idea to have a TV in the bedroom or not ?

RORY

Your explanation doesn’t make sense. Why would you have a TV and DVD player to play movies your wife doesn’t want to watch right in the only part of the home where your wife is guaranteed to be at the same time you are?

djm

No.

No and No.

What is the point??

Slan,
D.

I am allowed to go into the bedroom at other times apart from sleep time !

RORY

Aw, fer crying out loud! Of course it’s okay!

Provided you aren’t one of these characters who feels the need to live life with a permanent TV soundtrack. I know a few who haven’t yet worked out that TVs have an “off” button.

“Please? Just turn down the sound a little while I play classical guitar?”

In our house, the bedroom is the place where Ironing is carried out. Those doing the ironing may do this while watching Videos or DVDs or even live TV. Others prefer to iron while communicating by telephone. And, now I come to think of it, with the TV on as well…

Most important mantra of your life: Nooooooooooo
No joke.
No kidding.

Now I’m kidding

My wife had three rules when we got married:

  1. No food in the purse. (doggie bag, left-overs, or sneaking into the movie food.)
  2. No TV in the bedroom.
  3. Only 1 coffeecup in the car at a time.

In the 20+ years we’ve been married, I’ve been able to break #1 & #3 on occasion but NEVER EVER #2.

NO!!

You read in the bed room, not watch TV!!

TV in the bedroom?

Yes!

Only turned on during foaling season,
only receives picture from remote camera
in pregnant mare’s stall.

You guys and your horses… ?

In this situation, I vote no to the TV in the bedroom.

A compromise might be a portable DVD player that you can watch with headphones on, while she watches what she wants on the main TV.

 it was so much better than getting up, dressed, walking the 120 feet to the barn, standing around watching (while disturbing everyone & letting the mare know that you were watching), and the reverse with the reset of the alarm.

…and the wife has learned to reset the alarm!

we are geeks, too!

Lyle, the Pony.. and the boat will never be the same again.

Slan,

Nope. No TV in the bedroom.
We barely watch the one in the living room (although I’m beginning to get hooked on “Deadliest Catch”!)

one of the weirdest moments at a concert…

all of the old farts, stand and sing along…

Nothin’ wrong with Ponys…

Bon Voyage,

Well, there’s wisdom for you. Any more questions?

I don’t see the problem if it’s the best available space away from where your wife is watching the other tube and you don’t watch it instead of sleeping and you don’t watch it when your wife wants to sleep.

My personal preference would be to find another room for the second tv, but I don’t think there should be any hard and fast rules re appropriate uses for rooms as established by someone other than you.

Build yourself a ‘man room!!!’

I don’t watch TV, but I have my PC, PS3, pipes, flute, whistles and 'leccy drum kit in me man room.

Everyone needs their space.

Mukade

TVs never belong in the bedroom. :imp:
