turkey hot dogs

You’ve gotta have slaw for the hot dogs. Slaw and chili.

Well the deserved to be eaten.

Serves them right it does.

They can bring on the cholic though.

I love German potato salad, but with my lipid profile it has to be a rare pleasure.

You guys should try this : http://www.recipezaar.com/131532.
It’s hardly a ‘potato salad’ anymore, but is delicious.

Looks wonderful, Luc. For bacon, would they mean the stuff that’s cooked till really crispy or something Americans would consider closer to ham?

I’d probably spice it up a tad, like this recipe:

Ethiopian ginger-fried vegetables

Potatoes
Green beans
Carrots
1 bell pepper
1 onion
(or some combination of these and/or other veggies that appeal to you, cauliflower is good)

1 dried chile pepper or some crushed red pepper
about an inch or two (2-5 cm) ginger root
some olive oil

Cube the potatoes and boil them, the green beans, and sliced carrots till they’re almost done
Heat the olive oil in a wok or big heavy pan, add the broken-up chile and saute for a few seconds
Add minced onion, bell pepper, and ginger and saute them till soft
Add the other veggies and salt or soy sauce and pepper to taste

I’ve never tried it, but I bet a little bacon would really do good things for this dish.

Where were all these great picnic food ideas two months ago when it was 90 degrees out?

Anyway, I’ll put in my vote for Hebrew National hot dogs slathered with Polish spicy mustard.
