Can anyone identify the first tune being played in this clip? I’d like to learn it. I know I’ve heard a version of it before, but I can’t recall it’s name. Thanks!
It’s on “Fused” by Mike McGoldrick, track 10, titled “Ridee”.
Ridées or Laridées are a class of Breton dance tune.
FYI:
If you have a smart phone you can download an app called Tunepal. It was developed in Ireland (a major exporter of software). It “listens” to a tune and offers possible tune names, along with a % possibility of being correct, plus the sheet music for each suggestion, and you can click within the app to go to Youtube to hear what it sounds like (provided someone has uploaded it. Most tunes are available). The app cost $4.99 last time I checked. I’ve had many hours of fun with it. I play a tune I like and then check out various similar tunes that pop up. I’ve uncovered some gems this way.
