Transcribe! now does synchronized audio/video slowdown

I’ve been using Transcribe for many years to learn tunes, its the best tool I’ve found for the task.

Transcribe 7.5 has been updated to support slowing down Quicktime video files with synchronized audio without changing the pitch. Great for learning tunes from instructional videos.

Here’s the update info from Seventh String Software:

Transcribe! version 7.50 is now available for Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista, Mac OS-X 10.3.4 or later, and Linux x86.

You can find more information, and download it, at www.seventhstring.com Please let me know any problems.

It will recognise your existing version 7 license key if
you have one - you shouldn’t need to enter it again.

***** Video (Windows & Mac, not yet Linux) *****

Transcribe! on Windows and Mac has long been able to play the sound from QuickTime Movie files (mov, mp4, etc). Version 7.5 adds the ability to display the video too, synchronised to the audio. This can be very helpful if you are transcribing music from a video of an actual performance.

It also has a “time-offset” slider, so you can synchronise the audio and video even on the many videos around which are not properly synced.

You need to have QuickTime installed : on a Mac, it’s already part of the system. On Windows you will need to download it from Apple - it’s free - at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/ (QuickTime is also required for iTunes so if you have installed iTunes on Windows, you will find that you have QuickTime already).

Displaying video at variable speed while also changing the speed of the audio adds up to some serious processing power. It’s best if your computer has dual (or more) processors.
