Thinking about starting up the flute

If you’re confused, what’s happened is that your comment has
discombobulated some folks. This is originally a TinWhistle forum,
and has only branched out to other instruments as it became
necessary. Likewise, most people come here because of the whistle,
and take up other instruments later. So it’s surprising to find a
member who doesn’t know about the whistle.

If you look at the forum index, you’ll notice that the first in the list
is the Whistle forum. It is a great place to learn about the instrument.

not discombobulated at all, thank you!

tin whistles…indeed

…just short a few bits of birdseed this aft…

To begin with, I’d say that a musical instrument, any instrument, represents a musical voice, as the voice of the player.

Basically, it comes down to your interest in having such a voice.

If that sounds good, then go for it!

I’m dealing with stress… :stuck_out_tongue:

I was not accusing you of being part of that subversive group that calls itself “some folks”.

perennially groupless… :frowning:

There’s always this:

for the budget minded!

costs no more that the whistle thing

WOW!!! That’s amazing! And he’s even on pitch (better than I am with a REAL instrument!)… I thought the tin whistle was the simplest (not to play, just in complexity) instrument out there!
