Just got my Burke Viper Low D. Byll, I know you’re the resident “expert” on these. I’d been wondering about them for some time, but never heard anything about them except from Byll. Bonding takes time generally, but I sense the beginning of a lasting friendship already. Really nice - why it’s a big aluminum black tip. Nice volume, strong low end and really smooth yet soaring high end. Easier to play at speed than most for me.
LOL Phil, I thought you got a new car at first. Congratulations on the whistle. It sounds really nice.

That’s a good sign. The same thing happened with my Alba Low C. I knew I was going to love it right away but it took time to get to know how it wanted to be played.
Glad you like your Viper, Philo. No whistle - low or high - is the be all and end all of whistledom…That said, the Viper is everything you have related. We are all the richer because there are so many excellent instruments out there. Their differences are a positive, not a negative…
Best,
Byll
