The Twelve Days of Christmas

Now the silly season is upon us, it’s time for a bit of Christmas realism.

Start here:

And for those who’d prefer a little Irish, and don’t we all from time to time, you can’t do better than Frank Kelly’s hilarious take on that song:

Hey Wombat, I liked that link!

I think you really need to hear that one (rather than read it)

Came across the ozzie version earlier this week. Emu up a gum tree.

Yeah, I was going to suggest that people buy the CD. I heard it again on the radio driving home this evening and just about crashed the car I was laughing so much.

As for Aussie Christmas songs, my favourite starts like this:

Driving through the bush,
In a rusty Holden Ute,
Heat and dust and flies,
Christmas time is beaut

I can’t remember the name of the person who wrote and recorded that but maybe someone alse will know.

Wombat, I shouldn’t have read your second link posting, even though it has been three weeks from the abdominal surgery that I had and the stitches are out, I almost literally busted a gut reading that link.

Thank you for the great laugh, it hurts but it feels good, and nothing busted open.

A Merry Christmas to you!
