Where I grew up, there was a greenbelt around the city. There was a car place that was forever on the radio advertising that they were “just beyond the rim”. This lead to a certain amount of ribaldry concerning which rim the ads may have been pertaining too.
So, on the outskirts, just beyond the rim, down by the boardwalk, somewhere beyond the sea, onwards and upwards, etc.
