In advance of the 3rd “FluteFling Scottish Flute Day” [ Saturday 7th May - see post elsewhere ], Tom Oakes has organised “The Great Scottish Flute Night !”, in aid of the “Scottish Association for Mental Health” charity, in Edinburgh on Friday 6th May 2016.

Now the unfortunate news - no alcohol allowed on the premises, cafe available.
A flute session is in the process of being organised for after the concert - I’ll post details here later, once finalised.
I have signed up for “The FluteFling Great Scottish Flute Night”, Friday 6th May, is there any further information on the proposed post concert session?
Shame you can’t make it, Ben - maybe next time.
Martin - the plan is to decamp en masse to the “Tradfest” Festival Club in “The Pleasance”* after the concert. It’s the same place as we invaded last year on the Friday night, and I think “DJ Dolphin Boy” is being given the rest of the night off once we get there [ but presumably, still being paid ]. Keep music live !

I’d say it was about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the venue at the most. It’s only about 2 blocks away. See you there.
I did a “preview” of this concert yesterday on our community radio programme, featuring music by some of the flute players due to perform, but you might not have heard all of them before. To hear tracks from Nuala Kennedy, Tom Oakes, Niall Kenny, Sarah Hayes, Cathal McConnell, and Hamish Napier, and also Danny Boyle and Kevin O’Neill [ a bit submerged in the “St. Roch’s Ceili Band” from Glasgow ] - go here :
