I escaped from the crimson room just now too, but I cheated. 
avanutria and Tyghress----I gave up totally in Motas at only level 3. I was so stumped and fed up, I can’t believe how far you guys got! Well, it just goes to show…uh,…I don’t know…whatever. 
seisflutes—Well, you couldn’t stay locked up in there for your whole life! We won’t tell anyone. 
Cynth, level 3 separates the people who are mildly interested from those who get obsessed about solving puzzles. As I progressed I had the chat bar open, and you can’t believe the number of people stumped by the silly head puzzle.
I’m in 13 now, and concerned that I won’t be able to progress…but I’ll work at it for another few days.

Google “Crimson Room” and you can find some help.
Hint: Some actions need to be repeated several times fast for anything to happen. And every “hidden” location that exists has a reason for being there.

These tests so do not measure IQ, though, they just measure attention span and stubbornness! I gave up after 9 but John kept plugging away…

I can’t get the metal stick from under the matress! Everytime I click it, it takes me to the plain red wall!!!
Can you actually see it, or do you just know it’s there from hints? It is a pain to get to the right location (click on the pillow first - it should be up while you’re trying to get the metal stick.) I didn’t have any trouble once I could see the metal rod.
I was clicking the wrong side of the matress!!! Whoops!!
