I spent one tax season as a tech support “commando” (special escalation team) at TurboTax (which was Chipsoft back then). Working mostly on electronic filing and refund anticipation loans.
I have stories. 
Ditto. I don’t know if it’s changed in the last several years, but many forms aren’t due to the taxpayer till the end of February. I’ve gotten my W-2 and an interest statement from one bank, but am still awaiting probably a half-dozen statements.
Since a few years, they have a software to do your taxes here. Translated into English, its name is “magpie”. Enough said.
