Can you all give me a list of some great tabature sites?
Do you mean the dots representing the whistle or the abc type? I used the dots to learn to read music -after going through about 20 tunes I started to put them together with the note, that is the dots were above the music itself. The Ireland’s best tinwhistle tunes book, the one by Waltons, has the dot with music system for about the first 30 tunes.
Do yourself a favor and learn to read normal music notation. It is NOT hard to learn and is vastly superior to tab. Really. Once you can read music, there are thousands of tunes available to you in all styles: Celtic, Old Time, Classical, etc.
A good whistle tutor like Bill Ochs’ Clarke Tinwhistle starts you out on tab but very soon starts teaching you normal notation in a logical, gradual method. By the end of the book, you will be reading music. Do it. You’ll thank me…
