Sweetheart M2 Fife

quick question I am playing Irish Tunes on my Fife for fun. Problem though is this Fife the Stoney Creek Model made by Copperman, while good with the upper notes is not very strong with the lower notes. I see on the Sweetheart website that the M2 is good for playing Fiddle tunes. Is anyone using this M2 Fife and if so what do you think?..good for fiddle tunes? Its available in blackwood and rosewood, Im guessing Blackwood is the way to go…BTW I have owned all of the sweetheart Folk fifes or Flutes in G A and F. I think of these as more Flutes than Fife. While I’ve played Flute for years I’m playing the Fife more now

Like you I’ve used the Sweetheart folk fifes in keys other than Bb (C, G, A). I like them very much.
No experience with the M2, however–though I would expect it does what they say.
I;ve had a lot of success with the Billy Miller Bb bamboo flute, FWIW.

The Sweets tell me that the sound of rosewood and blackwood in their ‘fifes’ cannot be told apart by listeners
and are evident only ‘beneath the ear’ of the player, FWIW. Makes a difference in price, you see.

Well, as luck would have it , I found a Cooperman blackwood Concert Model Fife on eBay for $40. These Fifes list for $275 in the Cooperman Catalog.
This Fife has 10 holes and I would have preferred just the usual 6, which is what I play. I am hoping I am able to tape of the 2 thumb holes and pinky holes
