I paint signs. I took a course at Los Angeles Trade Tech to learn how to make signs. I learned in that course about this progression:
Step 1=Unconscience-Incompetent
Step 2=Consceince-Incompetent
Step 3=Conscience-Competent
Step 4= Unconscience-Competent
I think this progession applies to many areas of our lives. Even learning whistle. I’m very new to the whistle so I would say I’m at a 2 and sometimes a 1. Rating youself truthfully might be more of a challenge than expected. Some will rate themselves high and some low. Just have fun with the idea.

Conscience—pretty clear at the moment.
Competence—that depends.
Mystification rating—very high.
Hmmm…well the conscience is there, but the competency varies. Some days I’ll find myself saying “you know, you’re getting pretty darned good at this whistling thing,” and other days I’ll wonder why I even bother trying to make music
FWIW, however, I find this to be true in most areas of my life

Oh. Was that specifically our whistling we were just rating? Well, I have nothing further to add.
