The old man got me into it…I have to play (and sing) for three hours on Sunday! Geez. I have been practicing (whistle and flute) quite a bit over the last few months, and I feel ready in theory, but three hours straight?!? Geez.
Anybody else have gigs on that day?

I am playing in a special youth Mass service in honor of St. Patrick.

Our band (Echoes of Ireland) has a full slate this St. Paddy’s day..
We’re working a 4 hour gig Friday, a 4 hour gig Saturday, a 1 hour gig AND a 4 hour gig Sunday. My poor little fingers are going to be tired!

Just like hillfolk I am sort of playing a St. Patrick’s gig. I’ve got one Sat. night, and am also playing at a service Sunday. Plus at a party Sun. night, but that is just at a friend of mine’s house.
I’m jealous. My repertoire is limited mostly to the tunes I’ll be playing in church on Sunday morning.
Have lots of fun, Jessie. I hope you’ve got several litres of water to keep your whistle wet - but not clogged 
- for three hours!

Rough new session from 2 to 5 on Sunday, then I get to be audience for a major benefit bash in the evening.
Wow, you people have me beaten. I’ll be playing at Mulligan’s in downtown Nashville.

4-6 hours Friday night for the “Blessing of the Kegs”
Pretty much straight through from 10:00 am till 9:00 pm on Saturday for a siamsa, ceili, and several impromptu sessions around the Gallivan center downtown.
Then on Sunday, a couple hours at Primary Children’s Hospital for some of the kids. An afternoon gig at a local restaurant from 2-5 pm, and then off to Murphy’s pub from 8 pm till whenever we all fall over!

I’ll be playing on the steps of the Franklin Hotel, which is private property. They hired another Scots Pipe Band from Canada! Hopefully this time. it won’t be so cold and wet that my fingers won’t budge from the whistlers position for a couple of days like they did the last time.
I bet no one else has a gig Saturday playing at a quilt shop…
My band has got three 45 minute sets on Sunday at a pub. It isn’t bad because there are long breaks in between and I don’t have to play all the time because of the songs and etc.

An hour long gig at a going away party Friday, then a “serious” St. Pat’s gig (how’s that for an oxymoron?) for three hours saturday night at the Catholic school, complete with corned beef, cabbage, and green punch no doubt.
By the way, our band’s name has evolved considerably since we started playing together. We’re currently considering “Ridalin” since we all have pretty short attention spans…Dale, would that get us into any copyright problems?
