Anyone ever try to play a whistle on a windy day?..Maybe it’s just me,but it seems as though the wind steals my sound.
Sure does… And that means that when Joanie Madden calls a CD “Whistle on the Wind”, she’s not being honest with us.

If you have a 2 piece whistle, try turning the head backwards, so the little window is facing you. If the wind is not too strong, this may help. Also helps to keep your back to the wind.
As I strolled along the craggy clifftops
of Inishmore,I thought how idyllic it would be if I played a soulful air on my Galway -bought genaration tin whistle.Much to my dismay,as I blew, the damn wind robbed
my tune of its tone, volume, and beauty.
I’m really just babbling.
Thanks brewerpaul for the tip.

In moderate winds, I turn my back to the wind and that seems to help. If I’m playing with a group, then I get on the downwind side of the biggest guy.
