Hey,
How are you? This song is by my favorite band Train and it’s called Fallout - it’s from the “We Were Soldiers” movie and it has bagpipes in it! It’s a beautiful song and for all who’s interested, here’s the MP3 link: http://members.cox.net/trainiac2001/Fallout.mp3
Also, I want to apologize for posting so many off-topic postings. I just haven’t had that much to say about the whistle, but have wanted to keep talking to you guys. Hope you don’t mind…
Sara don’t worry about off topic threads, eventualy all threads on or off topic wash away to the land of the Archives. The Archives do not discriminate. Just keep posting and letting your thoughts roll.
We play music to express ourselfs right?!!
BTW thanks for the link.

I know, it does have a very Pink Floyd sound to it. I’m a member on the Train message board and, before I heard the song, everyone on the board was saying it sounded like Pink Floyd!
jackorion,
I’m glad it’s okay to post OT threads - I know some people don’t like people straying off topic all the time. True, we play music to express ourselves. I just wanted to make sure it was okay. And you’re welcome about the link!
Sara, some words of advice. You can’t worry about what others think. I know there are those that like to stick to the plan closely, and scoff at the ones who step out of the lines.
I had an art teacher tell me a great story. It’s a variation of a common theme.
There was a kid who used to always color outside the lines and use colors that didn’t even come close to representing the natural colors. The teacher finally had enough when he painted a cow purple, and tried to change the kids way of coloring.
He told this to me in the context that it is better to give a child a box of crayons and a pad of blank paper. The moral of the story is it’s probably going to be the purple cow kid that finds a cure for cancer.
You probably had to be there when Stoia (my art teatcher) told it. It had a huge impact on me.
Remember this though as you already know, Do what you will but harm none.
If this board is a form of communication for you, as it is, there shouldn’t be anyone botherd by an OT thread that is clearly stated OT. No one is forced to read it so your not harming anyone. Plus your OT threads are always cool.
AHA! So I’m not the only one who hears the Floyd sound in it. You’re awfully young Sara so you probably have no idea what were talking about. If you get a chance check out some of their music.
jackorion,
That’s a really nice story - I wouldn’t have to have been there when your art teacher told it because I totally understand it. And that’s usually true - some of the greatest minds in our history have done their own thing, while other people just went along with what everyone else did. That’s a really wizard story. And thanks for the compliment about my posts - that’s really nice of you, thanks.
dakotamouse,
I totally know who Pink Floyd is! I really like their music - they have a very definate sound that I really like. “Wish You Were Here” is my favorite of theirs!
