Are Soodlum & Walton whistles the same thing? All I’ve read about them here suggest they probably are.
Shaw high D - I bought one recently in Hobgoblin in London, and the soldering along the back is quite noticeable - also the holes are not quite in line with the mouthpiece. Are all Shaws as roughly made as this? Neither actually affects the playing, but it doesn’t look all that.
Soodlum is the original name so if you have an Soodlum it is an older model. When they changed, I do not know. Why they changed? Maybe Walton brought out Soodlum or if Walton always did make Soodlum changed the name because Walton is a more familar name in Irish music.
Thanks Joe, I guessed it must be something like that.
I have some Soodlum’s songbooks & tapes, bought a couple of years ago in Ireland, and also Waltons teaching books, tapes & CDs bought in store or over the net this year.
