I am searching for the name of the song/artist.
The song is in the background of a dutch film.
The film is from 1992 so the song has to be from 1992 or before.
The first version is the original, the second is a covered version from 1997.
I hope someone will recognize the song.

Don’t know it, but it sounds very Scottish to me, possibly the tune to a Scots Gaelic song.
I thought it sounded like a made up tune, loosely based on Mull of Kintyre.
All tunes are “made up”, surely ? You could be right, most likely a piece of original “Celtic” music composed for the film. It’s the kind of tune I envisage played by some poxy Scottish ceilidh band, all in tartan jackets, and with 2 piano accordions accompanied by drums, bass and piano.
I’ll leave it at that.

Do you have access to the film credits? They may list the names of the tunes performed. More likely, they will say, “music composed by …,” and all of the music in the score has been composed specifically for the film.
That was well found! I can’t find it myself (the tune, that is), but that’s them, right enough, by the look of it.
I don’t know, just googled their names (pulled from the stack of accumulated useless information life stacks up in the back of your mind). Cringeworthy stuff, bottom of the pile.

is the one that has the tune. The sites listing the dvd of it don’t do music credits.

So if they were on a journey through Europe, where does one suppose they were in that clip (either version)? Brigadoon? Rathcullen?

In the end credits is just 1 person responsible for all the music.
I’ve send an e-mail to the director but he can’t remember the title or artist.
