someone killing cats in my house

been at a week and i get the tunes but sounds like some one is killing cats lol is this normal

well if you are playing the tin whistle or penny whatever you prefer
make sure it isn’t a blender with cats in it

what are you playing?

amazing grace theme from titanic danny boy sky boat (that dont sound to bad lol) on the tin whistle with no music talent its my 1st instrument

Just thank the powers that be that you aren’t trying to learn fiddle too. … or are you? :astonished:

naaa just love the sound of the whistle so thought why not and i aint giving in :boggle:

after only a week, I was pretty awful.

Keep it up! Once you start getting more comfortable with the finger motions and breath control, you can start making some real music

Now is a good time to line out alternate places to sleep, as your family, friends, neighbors may begin to try to …um… discourage your endeavors.

Hang in therew. They’ll run out of ammunition soon enough… and eventually, if you are steadfast, they will actually want you around with your whistle… and if you are really lucky and ever-so-steadfast, you might even make a penny or two for the playing. Really. It can happen.

Hi

Shouldn’t that be reel music?

hahahahahahahaha :swear: hey i make puns that is my job  kidding of course good show with that one

i can’t even make those horrible squawking sounds now, even for fun. how i did it back then all the time, i have no idea.

How many have died so far?

If after a bit longer it’s still too painful, you might want to consider another whistle. While inexperience can produce murderous sounds, as I found out with my first whistle, some whistles are just…ah…less cooperative than others. But, yes, I think it does take a while to get used to the proper breath control needed to produce notes without squwaking. You might want to try doing octive jumps (low d slur to high d, low e slur to high e etc) as a warmup.

(On another note, one of my ferrets for a while liked to systematically knock my whistles off of my shelf…I’m wondering if that was a sign… :tomato: )

Alas, it is a perennial skill of mine.
