It’s interesting . . . I listened to the Pig Town set and they’ve managed to make it sound Karelian rhythmically. (cf. Värttinä)
It probably just reflects the musical influences of the musicians, and I don’t mean it to sound like as much of a criticism as it does, but I find it fascinating. And if I had no more than a passing familiarity with Finnish folk music I might not have noticed.
