Acoustically dead rooms are the absolute worst. We hate them forever. Just had to deal with that the other day (playing solo for step dancers, something I’m fairly used to doing), and it took me over an hour until I finally got the feel for the sound of the room, and by then I was almost done. sigh
And I don’t think solo flute for dancers is the best aesthetic choice, either, but what’re ya gonna do?
No worries. But it was a point that I thought was worth clarifying just in case.
