SOLD : Antique 8 keys French flute

Hello,

It seems this is a French flute from the late XIX, Jon C worked on it and found the flute sounds real nice, and has a strong voice. Jon’s just modified the tone holes because the bore was spot on, polished and repad the keys, and repaired three cracks (two in the head, one in the barel)

I removed the two low keys because i don’t use them, but i have them.

This flute is an easy player and sounds very great for Irish music.
I think 600$ is a correct price for such a nice keyed flute.

you can contact me for more infos or pictures.

Patrick.

I have a fin de siècle French that I brought back from the grave too.

What I was surprised to find was how much sound I can get out of it.

Mine is quite in tune and is really sweet all the way in the third octave.

I can get a good reedy sound off it but its as all ways really up to you and generally not the flute.

I would have no problem to take it to session. Not at all.

Well worth the 600 bucks for a keyed flute. You might want to also take up Charanga. This is THE flute for that.

I kept my lower keys on. I’ve not really found it to make any difference on or off and I’ve experimented with all the flutes I have.

Now, these aren’t big bore English flutes they just ain’t the same animal but you can squeeze a lot of goodness from a French.

Just ask Jem.

Good bang for your buck here.

I have this one and a Lehart. This flute is the easiest, less strech, less air and a good projection. The lehart is a gift, so i can’t sell it, otherwise …

I need cash, so my last price : 550 shipping included

Patrick.
