So what is everyone going as?

Now Denny, you know that I solved my Halloween costume problem a long time ago:

what? ya don’t want to be fat for just one evening?

Are you a Star Wars fan? Ya gotta see this:

I did Darth Vadar once, but there’s no way I’m going to spend the time on that Death Star.

So of course it had to be a hotel.

Just in, and in fuzzy cell phone format: this year’s coordinated costume set:
(this is again daughter Olivia and bf Brian.)

Last one: Becca’s costume for a night out in Baltimore.
The challenge was whether 12 people could identify the character she’s dressed as. (Prize was her bf owes her a kitten. Good thing the count was just below 12.) Do YOU know who this character is?

Nope. Grew up in the mysophobic 80s.
But I do know enough to know it wasn’t
called “ducking” for anything. Admittedly,
“ducking” makes more sense than “bobbing”.

I figured out the Brittishisms by context, I
was just surprised which colloquialisms were
translated for us and which were assumed
universal.

Love it. The boots really make it.

Do YOU know who this character is?

I do not but I hope you’ll tell me. It’s tugging
at my memory but not hard enough to dislodge
anything. Are her eyes really dyed red to match,
or is that a happy coincidence (for once) due to
retinal reflection?

No, her eyes aren’t really red! (That would be cool though, but not in character.)
Here’s the giveaway.

Ah, thanks, I feel much better now.
Isn’t that a bit before her time?
(Aaaaand now I feel old…)

But so was Star Wars. ('77 maybe?)

fact check: She turned 3 the year Hook came out.

Old. Bobbing for apples was before your time. Imagine how I feel: can you say, “antediluvian”?

I’d need to put my teeth in first…

anyone know where they are?

Nonsense. Star Wars is timeless. Eternal.

Huh. It seems longer ago than that.
Let’s se… '91? Wow.
