Smaller I-rivers?

Anybody tried one of the newer, smaller Iriver MP3 player/recorders?

eg. iRiver H10 5GB MP3

I read a revue about them a couple of months ago. They do not readily use MP3 files like the Ipod does. You have to convert the files with a software program before you can put them on the unit and use them. I think that technology has a way to go yet. Also the files are larger so a 4 gig Ipod will hold more music than a 4 gig Iriver. I’m sure you can find a revue on the net but you really should check it out before you buy one. There are several different brands available now but I think the Ipod still beats them all hands-down.

Actually I’m horrendously old-fashioned and don’t need it as an MP3 player precisely - I need

1. Something to record sessions and workshops with.
2. An external hard drive would be nice!

So. . .I’m primarily interested in it as a fancy voice recorder.
