Small bamboo flute, Larsen book offered

I have two items for sale or trade:

A small (pitched in the high whistle range) black bamboo flute by Aaron Heinig of Blissful Bamboo Flutes, tuned to a D minor scale. Nicely made. You can see it, sort of, in my avatar, and I can send pics on request. There’s a review of one of Aaron’s flutes in the archives:

Aaron’s website is no longer there, so I can’t check current prices. I paid around $45.

And a copy of the Grey Larsen “Essential Guide,” with cds. Book is in very good condition, slightly bent at one lower corner from storage. The cds have hardly been played.

I’d be open to trade one or the combination for some variety of whistle in D, F, G, A, C, Eb. Or perhaps a bamboo flute in one of those keys. PM with any offers or suggestions for trade.

Thanks.

What does one play on a D minor flute?

Jim, tunes in D minor! With pretty much the ease of playing in E minor on a D flute. Although it’s different playing an instrument pitched an octave up. Also, tunes in F major. And the minor scale is fun for improvising too, if you’re in that frame of mind.

I’m in sort of a house-cleaning mood, having just ordered a low F whistle from Doc’s store. I also have an Aaron Heining E-flat (major) bamboo flute I might throw into this mix. I’d value that flute at around $50, the D minor at $40, and I’d let the Larsen book go for around $25. If anyone wants to make an offer involving, say, some Syn or Shaw whistles for some combination (or just an offer), do let me know.
