Sirrus or XM

I’ll be buying a new car in the not to distant future and it appears it will have a satellite radio option. By that I mean it’s an option but is also installed on virtually every car. I’ve been told that if XM is installed, they’ll switch it to Sirrus for no additonal charge.

So my choice will be which one rather that whether or not. I’m willing to try it, but which one?

The day of decision is near. XM or Sirrus will be in the car. Should I care which one? Thanks in advance for opinions and suggestions.

Here’s some discussion on the subject:

Awww, the choice is easy, you know you want the Howard Stern show…

Isn’t that why anyone listens to radio anymore?

Well yeah, I quit listening to “terrestrial” radio when Stern made the move to satellite.

I don’t have satellite yet, but I’ve listened to XM a few times while renting a ZipCar (ZipCar rules btw) and was not impressed with the selection of stations - If I were having satellite installed, I’d be inclined NOT to go with XM.

There are differences in channels offered, so it’d make sense to go to each of those two sites and make a list of your top ten preferred channels. Then compare notes!
