Siccama on ebay

There’s a rather nice looking Siccama flute on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150785697654&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

This would be a good flute for someone wishing to get some big flute experience but with easy finger stretches.

Keep in mind it’s going to need some repairs so factor that into your bidding!

Looks like a nice one, probably be a real honker! Do you think it is a earlier model, with the salt spoon key cups?

Yes. I confirmed the serial number with the seller, it is No 205. The highest number reported to me so far is 1104.

Also the C#-D# length is longer than the later ones - 255mm - about the same as the mid century Rudalls. We have yet to work out what that really means for a Siccama flute, but it’s about the same as my No 321, which is a beaut instrument.

The seller gives the overall length and sounding length, but they are about the same as all Siccamas. Bears out my assertion that sounding length really doesn’t tell us much!

Hi there,

do you think the pitch is ok?

Hi folks,

this flute is amazing, sounds strong and beautiful and plays at 440 hz with the slide 15-16mm out.
