Postcards from Yo Momma. E mails, texts, Facebook posts and other technology writings from mothers. It’s like listening to your Mother without having to listen to your Mother. Or finding out that there are stranger Mothers than your Mother. I don’t think there is a corresponding website related to Fathers.
Friday I’m doing something fun as well. Joan and I are starting a club called The Grown-Ass Woman’s Club. Our mascot is Gert Boyle (One Tough Mother) from Columbia Wear. Your stepfather is making fun of us but I think he’s just petty and jealous. I finally told him to shut up. That’s what GAW do when they are confronted with negativity. One of our field trips is going to be on a Saturday and we’re going to find those Red Hat Ladies and shove them down. They’re ridiculous and need to be eliminated.
These guys have, at long last, found a non-evil use of Auto Tune - taking cable & local news clips and other people’s YouTube videos, and making them sing, literally.
Whether it’s a grown man crying at the sight of a double rainbow, a victim’s brother issuing a challenge to a would-be rapist, or Pat Buchanan theorizing about a Supreme Court nominee’s sexuality, they sure can carry a tune.
The Daily Mash. The UK’s answer to the Onion. More incisive, more offensive. I like to see what’s on the Mash, and work out what the actual news story is.
Futility Closet. Their obsession with anagrams can be a little wearing, but now and then they have something interesting.
Tabloid Watch. Where the red-tops have put their foot in it this time. I wonder how they get away with it. Then I remember. Money.
Japanese Game-Design. They like to test new stuff on here. Some of the games are irritating, some compulsive. Black Cat Capture is good, and Escape from the Starship. I regularly play Hanafuda Flash. I downloaded “Dice Wars”, which is in Japanese, but you only need to know the difference between “Yes” and “No”.
